In Jurassic Heart, a miniature Japanese-style dating game created last year, you play as a young woman entering into a blossoming romance with a Taira, a talented ukulele player. Who also happens to be a Tyrannosaurus-Rex.
Jurassic Heart was created as part of the Heart-Pounding Pulse-Stopping Dating Sim Jam early last year by developer Thongrop Rodsavas. While right now you only have one character to romance (the shy Taira), the plan is to continue developing the game to have five romanceable characters.
Outside of the obvious gimmick of romancing a ukulele-loving T-Rex, Jurassic Heart is an incredibly sweet dating sim. Taira is incredibly shy, with some social hang-ups about performing in front of an audience. You can help him through those issues while shopping for a new ukulele. The game is fairly direct, and takes about five to ten minutes to complete.
The art is the style you’d expect from a dating sim, complete with emotional squiggles whenever Taira gets uncomfortable. Overall the game is cute and sweet, and I’m excited to hear more about it. If you’re interested in giving Jurassic Heart a play through, you can play it at Jay is Games.
